Motorola DEFY - Armored Droid

We have not seen it on the shelves, but it should be in before Christmas, if the information from techie.com.ph is correct. The Motorola DEFY is your typical mid-level Android Smart phone with a 3.7" screen (854 x 480 pixels), 512MB of RAM and a 800MHz TI OMAP3610 processor. Internal storage is a scant 2GB, but it is expandable via MicroSD. Connectivity is as expected of this type of phone with 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, DLNA and Micro USB. It's and Android so interface and browser is good. The camera is your typical Android phone 5MP with LED flash affair, decent but nothing great. The biggest drawback of this phone is it does not do HD video, but at the expected suggested retail price of Php23,000 this would still be one very good buy indeed.

There is one big plus to this phone. IT IS RUGGEDIZE.  The phone with its rubberized finish and gorilla glass display it is scratch resistant, water resistant and dust resistant. This Droid, is a Droid not only in name.

This price puts it at the same range as the Php22,000-Php24,000 price of the Nokia N8 and below the Php25,500 of the HTC Desire (both of which phones our my personal favorites because of their price to performance ratio). GSMArena has already reviewed this phone and gave it good marks. A phone like this is what Motorola needs to claw its way back into the Philippine market.
