The BlackBerry PlayBook is Alive and Well

The BlackBerry PlayBook, first released towards the end of 2010 is alive and well. While considered a commercial failure, BlackBerry has stood behind its PlayBook and it will be getting an updated to the BlackBerry 10 operating system.

The hardware has stood the test of time, is still pretty decent two and a half years after its release. The PlayBook has a 7-inch, 600 x 1024 pixel resolution display. It is powered by a dual core 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor on TI OMAP chipset and PowerVR SGX 540 graphics, backed up by 1 GB of RAM. Basically, it can still stand toe to toe with Apple iPad mini.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is not probably the oldest tablet still offered for sale. The 16 GB version will now cost you just Php10,990, while the 32 GB version will set you back Php13,490.
