Nokia Lumia 520 - Windows Phone 8 @ just Php7,990

Yesterday, I wrote a post on Huawei's Ascend W1, a 4-inch Windows 8 smartphone with a surprisingly low retail price of Php8,990. Today, I learned Nokia is releasing an even cheaper Windows 8 device in the Philippines, the Nokia Lumia 520 which has a suggested retail price of just Php7,990.

The Nokia Lumia 520 has a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800) display, 8 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot with official support for microSD cards up to 64 GB in size, 512 MB of RAM, a 1 GHz dual core Qualcomm processor, a 5 MP camera and a 1430 mAh battery. The specification are similar to the Huawei Ascend 1, but I will leave a comparison for later. Right now, the Nokia Lumia 520 deserves some time in the limelight on its own.
