Intel is focusing on super thin and light Ultrabooks to try to interest more buyers into selecting a laptop instead of a tablet. Microsoft is focusing on touch to gain more interest in its Windows 8 operating system. Some buyers need neither of these two features, but just want a powerful portable package. Lenovo gives you that with its new ideapad Z400.
The 14-inch Lenovo ideapad Z400 is thin, at just over an inch, but these days some laptops are half as thick as this. It is also fairly light at about 4.4 pounds in weight. But the ideapad Z400 is all about power. The ideapad Z400 is powered by a Intel Core i7-3632QM processor, which is one of the most powerful processors which you will find in a portable machine these days. To back up the strong processing performance a second video card is added which can be used instead of the Intel HD4000 graphics when more graphics power is demanded. This laptop is equipped with a Nvidia GT645M video card with 2 GB of dedicated RAM.
The other specifications are nothing spectacular though. The Lenovo ideapad Z400 also comes with a 4 GB of RAM (upgradeable to 8GB), 500 GB hard drive and Dolby speakers. The 14-inch displays is nothing special, your typical HD 1366 x 768 display. Still, all in all, it is a very decent package for the Php42,990 asking price.
