A Trojan that Steals Mac OS X and Linux Password Discovered

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web discovered a cross-platform backdoor that runs under Mac OS X and Linux. That Mac OS X is not immune from malware may surprise some, but really that is old news. One attacking Linux too, well that is more surprising. 

This malicious program, BackDoor.Wirenet.1, is designed to steal passwords stored by a number of popular applications and also operates as a keylogger (it sends gathered keyboard input data to intruders). It's not clear how BackDoor.Wirenet.1, spreads. 

Looks like it might be time to get some anti-malware protection for your Linux box, or for you Mac, if you haven't already.

Lenovo Ideapad U310 Ultrabook - Core i5

An i5 version of the Lenovo Ideapad U310 Ultrabook, the replacement for the U300 is now available. It is priced at Php45,990, it is priced 6K more than its Core i3 sibling. The main reason for the update is the move of the U300 series to the 3rd generation Intel Core Ivy Bridge platform, this one sporting a i5 3317U processor (1.7 GHz to 2.6 GHz/3MB L3 Cache).

The laptop sports a 13.3-inch display with the standard Windows HD resolution, a 320 GB hard drive with a a 32GB SSD cache drive, 4GB or RAM and USB 3.0 ports. Lenovo promise 7 hours of battery life.
