Gnome 3 could look familiar to Android users

This is what the current Gnome 3 desktop app "drawer" looks like:

Here is a screenshot of the upcoming Gnome 3.2 desktop for Linux:

The app drawer which will jump from page to page just like a Android apps drawer. Looking more and more like its taking some cues from Android. What do you think?

  1. This is meant to be a desktop environment for computers, not a touch screen interface for mobile phones, but as desktop environment for productivity computers it's completely useless as it decreases usability and maximises keyboard typing action. Epic fail

  2. Actually it requires a little more mouse work than Gnome 2. What it tries to do is to display everything on screen minimizing what needs to be accessed through drop down menu's and for users who don't use keyboard shortcuts. It's not really innovative, taking cues from Mac OSX.
