Starmobile Knight versus the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2

Buying one of the locally branded phones is difficult. Competition is intense. If you are one of those who placed a reservation for a Starmobile Knight, a product which is pretty hard to find on the store shelves, the question now is, do you cancel your reservation and just wait for the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 coming out in a few weeks?

Both phones have similar specifications:

Starmobile Knight quick specs:

  • 4.7-inch IPS HD display (720 x 1280) protected by Gorilla Glass
  • Dual SIM
  • 4 GB internal storage, expandable via a microSD card slot

Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 Quick specifications:

The Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 has the advantage in storage and battery. When comparing the two, ultimately, the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 has the advantage in storage. It has 16 GB built in, and a MicroSD card slot, so you can increase this to about 48 GB. The Starmobile Knight has 4GB built in, plus a bundled 8 GB MicroSD card. Still, with a 32 GB Micro SD card, all you get is 36 GB.

The Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 has the advantage in a slightly larger battery with the added benefit of it being user replaceable.

The Starmobile Knight, wins in the handiness factor. The Knight is a much smaller phone than the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2.

  • Starmobile Knight - 138 x 66.7 x 7.5 mm
  • Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 - 137.9 x 70 x 9.85 mm

I will leave you to pick your own poison.

  1. Expandable memory, removable battery... these are probably two of the most common points of comparison between the local brands.

Just for kicks I made a chart about it using my leet MS Paint skillz:

  2. It's a good comparison because both phones aren't available in the market. Knight has been around for 2 weeks, up until now, no stocks available in cagayan de oro and some parts of the country. By the time Knight will arrive here in cdo, the X2 will be sold out by then.

    1. LOL. I have no luck finding a Knight either. One store I went to even offered to put me on a waiting list. I would be number 11!

  3. ano po ang mas maganda? cosmos x o cosmos x2?

  4. Cosmos X has 8mp front cam, while X2 has 5mp only. But what makes the difference is the internal memory. X only has 4gb, while X2 has 16gb. That's a lot of difference. I own an X2, and so far I'm satisfied with the performance. Antutu score is 13148.

    1. To confirm, we have to wait for the actual release of the X2, but 147 x 74 x 9.9 is a but bug for a phone with a 4.8 inch display.

    2. For a ball park figure estimate, the x2 is of the same size with the Galaxy S4. I own one so I know.

  13. MY ISSUE WITH STARMOBILE KNIGHT IS THIS: KAPAG NAKA FULL ANG BRIGHTNESS NG SCREEN, NAG-FLI-FLICKER AND UPPER HALF PART NG SCREEN. KAPAG DARK ANG IMAGE DI MAXADO KITA ANG FLICKER. PERU KAPAG BRIGHT OR COLOFUL IMAGE KLARU TALGA UNG FLICKER. FRUSTRATING NGA. HINDI KO NAMAN NAHULOG ANG PHONE KO. NA DISCOVER KO ITO AFTER THE 7 DAYS REPLACEMENT PERIOD. KUNG BIBILI KAYU, ECHECK NYU MUNA UNG FULL BRIGHTNESS NG SCREEN. WAG MO E-AUTO BRIGHTNESS PARA MAKITA TLAGA
