HTC is a bit of trouble. The Samsung Galaxy S II and S III have put it back to the wall. Well HTC is fighting back. HTC's latest Android flagship phone, the HTC Butterfly will be hitting Philippine shores, this month or early next month, and redefines the term "Flagship Android" phone.
The real draw of the new HTC offering is the 5-inch Super LCD3 Full-HD display. Yup, you read it correctly. The 5-inch screen on the HTC Butterfly has a 1080 x 1920 resolution.
Inside, the specifications are similar to the Google Nexus 4 with a Qualcomm 1.5 GHz quad-core Krait processor, Adreno 320 graphics and 2 GB of RAM. All this is built around Qualcomm's S4 Pro chipset, so you get 28 nanometer battery saving technology with System-on-Chip LTE on board. Basically, the best smartphone technology in the world right now.
Internal storage is 16 GB (11 GB user available), expandable via a MicroSD card slot. You also get an 8 MP primary camera and 2.1 MP front camera. The battery is a 2020 mAh unit. Out of the box, the phone comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Expected retail price, Php32,990 with a street price of around Php30,000.
