I do not spend to much time covering the larger 10-inch or so Android tablets, mainly because there are not too many Android apps that are optimized for larger tablet displays. When a friend as what tablet to get, I recommend a 7-inch Android tablet, Apple iPad mini or a full sized iPad. If they want a truly mobile device, I recommend that smaller Android tablet or the iPad mini. The 1.44 pound full sized iPad is best used on a tablet with a stand.
That is where the new Sony Xperia Tablet Z is interesting. It has good hardware with a 10.1-inch Full HD (1920 x 1200) display and a powerful quad core Qualcomm Krait processor. But what makes it a worthy of serious consideration is the size and weight. The new Xperia Tablet Z is just 6.9 mm thick weights in a just 1.09 pounds.
It is not cheap. The WiFi only 16 GB version will cost you all of Php29,999 while the 32 GB variant will set you back Php32,999. But if you are looking for the thinnest and lightest full sized tablet, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is it.
